Benders are married 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur J. Bender of Cape Girardeau celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner reception May 27, 2006.

The event was held at the home of a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Marty Fowler.

Bender and Cecelia Borchelt were married May 27, 1956, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Egypt Mills, by the Rev. K. Boetcher. Their attendants were Virginia Break, Vera Jean Hall, Al Bender and George Huey.

Bender is retired from Procter & Gamble, and Mrs. Bender is retired from Southeast Missouri State University.

They have four children Cindi Norris, Linda Fowler and Steven Bender of Cape Girardeau, and Tim Bender of Jackson. They have five grandchildren, Jessica Norris of Kansas City, Kan., Kelsey Norris, Corey and Hayden Fowler of Cape Girardeau, and Catlin Bender of Jackson.
