CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Mr. and Mrs. Everett "Bud" Milligan of Chaffee were honored with a surprise reception Aug. 5, 2000, in celebration of their 40th wedding anniversary. CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Mr. and Mrs. Everett "Bud" Milligan of Chaffee were honored with a surprise reception Aug. 5, 2000, in celebration of their 40th wedding anniversary. The event was held at Chaffee Nutrition Center, with about 60 guests attending.

Hosts were their sons and daughters-in-law, Phil and Teresa Milligan of Eureka, Mo., Steve and Susie Hardesty of Barnhart, Mo., and Dave and Marla Hardesty of Cape Girardeau.

Milligan and Icess Hardesty were married Aug. 1, 1960, at Sikeston, Mo., by Marvin Purdy.

Milligan is a retired truck driver and salesman. Both are volunteers at Chaffee Nutrition Center, where he is employed by the Green Thumb Program. They attend Cape Church of Christ.

The couple has six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
