Mr. and Mrs. Jerry W. McClanahan of Cape Girardeau celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a dinner and dance Feb. 19, 2000, at Drury Lodge.
Music was provided by the Jerry Ford Orchestra.
Guests attended from Cape Girardeau, Gordonville, Whitewater, Bell City, East Prairie, St. Charles; South Bend, Ind.; McClure, Metropolis and Little Grassy, Ill.
McClanahan and Barbara Cossou were married Feb. 20, 1960, at the Methodist Church in Shawneetown, Ill., by the Rev. Edward Minor. He is the son of Clara McClanahan of Cape Girardeau, and the late Roy McClanahan. Mrs. McClanahan is the daughter of Richard and Iva Cossou of Gordonville.
McClanahan is owner of Jerry's Custom Cabinets. Mrs. McClanahan is a speech and language therapist at Clippard Elementary School.
They are members of Grace United Methodist Church. He is also a member of Cape West Rotary and is a commissioned Stephen minister.
Their sons and daughters-in-law are K. Scott and Susan McClanahan of Cape Girardeau, and Collin and Lisa McClanahan of Gordonville. The McClanahans have four grandchildren: Ross and Lexie McClanahan of Cape Girardeau, and Troy-Lee and Lauren McClanahan of Gordonville.
