ANNIVERSARIES: HILLS CELEBRATE 40TH EVENT

EAST CAPE GIRARDEAU, Ill. -- Billy J. and Carolyn F. Hill of East Cape Girardeau celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary Sept. 30, 2000.

A catered dinner was held in the Community Room at Main Street Fitness in Jackson, Mo. Hosts were their children, Joe Hill of Bertrand, Mo., Melissa Duncan of Cape Girardeau, and Valerie Bhatia of McClure, Ill.

Hill and Carolyn Faye Holmes were married Oct. 1, 1960, at a Baptist church parsonage in Hickory, Ky., by the Rev. James Sanderson. Their attendants were Jack Willoughby and Shirley McManus Garland.

The Hills have two grandchildren.
