Reason for running: I was a firefighter, a training officer and an assistant chief at Whitewater before retiring. I've been the board secretary for about eight years, and a former board member. I want to be able to vote on some of the issues at meetings, and they need a woman on the board.

A lot of people think we're nuts, we run into a burning building instead of out of it, plus a lot of people don't have the time to really commit to it.
