__What is the most important issue facing Scott City Public Schools?:__

In my opinion, the most important issue facing Scott City Public Schools will be our upcoming search for a new superintendent due to the near retirement of our current one. I would like to be able to help ensure that whomever is hired to fill that position will lead the students and staff in a positive direction.

__What in your background or education makes you qualified for this office?:__

Even though I was not born and raised in Scott City, I have resided here for the last 17 years and have a vested interest in the community. Time invested in our children, school, and community is never wasted and has always been a priority of mine. I am a people person with no personal hidden agenda or axe to grind. I merely want what is best for the students and staff at SC Schools.

__How do you think the board should move forward with a possible no-tax bond issue? If passed, how should the money be spent?:__

I would have to do more research into this matter before being able to answer this question specifically. I believe that the Scott City R-1 School District has made financially sound decisions in the past and I foresee them continuing to do so in the future.

__Do you think the Scott City School District is a good place for teachers to work? Why or why not?:__

I believe the Scott City School District is a good place for teachers to work. Overall, the class sizes are small, the discipline issues are low, and the facilities are nice. Our teacher pay scale ranks right up there at the top compared to other area schools. I also believe the school has a rich history and pride in athletics, academics, and the community.
