1. Explain your understanding of how property should be assessed as well as the assessor's role in county government.
Answer: The real and personal property of Bollinger County should be assessed according to state and county regulation for fair and equitable taxation, as related to the current market value.
The assessor's job is to go and check the real estate for new construction and remodeling, along with removal of other buildings and/or business with relation to current values in our county. The office also keeps with the ownership of said real estate along with any changes that may occur.
The personal property is maintained yearly with information from the residents and businesses operation in our county. These valuations are assessed to current state and county guidelines.
2. Why are you interested in the position?
Answer: The people of Bollinger County need an experienced and knowledgeable assessor who is willing to work hard, is dedicated and is fair to everyone.
3. Why do you feel you're the best candidate for the job?
Answer: With 17 years experience and knowledge of the office, I feel I could step into the assessor's position with confidence, fairness and the ability to work hard for the county.
