1. What is the biggest reason you are running for this post?
I have always thought that being a county commissioner would be a very interesting and rewarding job. When I worked full time, I knew I didn't have time to do the job well. I now have the time and have gained a lot of knowledge and experiences.
2. What are the three biggest issues facing Perry County and how do you plan to address them?
Answer: I think the main issue facing Perry County is the effect of the higher fuel prices on the operation of the county. We need to look at all areas to evaluate efficiency and conserve wherever possible. We also need to look for ways to keep revenue within the county.
3. How do you feel the county government should work with cities and towns?
Answer: I feel the county government should strive to be on good terms with the cities and towns within the county and work together as much as possible.
4. Why do you feel you're the best candidate for the job?
Answer: I feel the experience I have in raid maintenance and rebuild and purchasing and maintaining heavy equipment from working at a local quarry for the past 25 years have given me the knowledge needed for the position. Also, I have seven years of experience working with the public when I worked for John Deer Equipment Sales in Perry County. I got to know many area farmers whose friendships I still value.
