What is the most important issue facing the Oran School District? What can be done about it?:
Academics are the main priority in any school. Oran has had success in athletics over the years, but making sure the students are as focused on their academics is a job that the teachers and administrators face on a daily basis.
__What in your background or education makes you qualified for this office?:__
In my profession I have dealt with numerous obstacles that have been handled by laying all the facts out and basing informed decisions on the truth. Honesty goes a long way, and everything is based off of trust.
__Where do you stand on the issue of Common Core standards?:__
These standards are set to insure that each student has the best change to succeed in the future. The graduation rate at Oran shows that the teachers, administrators, and students are doing what it takes to meet and exceed those standards. Support from the school board is mandatory to keep these standards going.
__Do you think the Oran School District is a good place for teachers to work? Why or why not?:__
Absolutely, teachers and administrators know Oran's traditions and take their job to heart. A lot of the teachers at Oran graduated from here, and continue to keep those traditions going. With the support from the community Oran keeps producing some of the best teachers in the area.
