Memberships: My employment, which keeps me very involved in our community, church, my current position on the Scott County R-IV School Board and helping out with the Band Boosters and other school related functions whenever and wherever needed.
Reason for running: I have enjoyed my service on the Board for the past three years and feel that this experience will only make me a better member to serve our District for the next three years if given the opportunity.
Other experience: I am currently serving as the Secretary for the Scott County R-IV School Board and also have served in the capacity as Treasurer for the Kenny Rogers Children's Center in Sikeston. Though this service was several years ago, I do feel that it assisted in me in gaining the experience I needed to serve our school district as a board member. I have also been working in Customer Service and management for the past 30 years and I certainly feel that this experience helps me to understand the needs of our students, patrons, faculty/staff and overall needs of the school district.
District's challenges: We are in the process as a district of having to replace our current lagoon. This will be a major project, a major expense and we are on time constraint deadlines set out by the state for completion of this project.
District's assets: The students and the faculty. Our students continually make us proud at any and all outside events. We have received numerous compliments on how our students behave and represent our school. Thank you students for your efforts and confidence in our school. Thank you faculty for helping these students to achieve these outstanding accomplishments.
Communication: As I have over the past three years. I have an "open door" policy at work and I carry that over to my service on the school board. I feel that I have been elected to serve and to do this you must make yourself available. I will continue to follow this same outlook if re-elected.
