1. What is the best solution for uptown traffic problems -- a roundabout, stoplights or some other answer? This is currently an area of discussion with the Board of Alderman. Preliminary plans are being drawn up for a roundabout at the courthouse and stoplights at the Hope/Main Street Intersection. These plans will be presented to the public and based on public input, a decision will be made. One or both of these solutions would relieve some of the traffic congestion in uptown Jackson.
2. Does Jackson need a new fire station? If so, how should it be financed -- a bond issue, new taxes or other solution? Yes, Jackson does need a new fire station. There is currently a committee that is researching sites for the new fire station. Financing for this project should be through a bond.
3. What in your background or education makes you qualified for this office? I am a lifelong resident of Jackson and have worked in our family owned business for 22 years in and around the Jackson community. I have a good rapport with business leaders and residents; as a result of virtually daily business contact with them. Since being in this position, I have become more familiar with the workings of the city government and the importance of the public voice.
