What is the most important issue facing the Scott City School District?
Improving parent/teacher involvement in making good solid decisions that will mold our youths lives for the future and improving classroom performance. We will continue to monitor administration/teachers/students with emphasis on improving MAP scores.
What in your education or background makes you qualified for this office?
In my career of 39 years of operations/management, I always had to make decisions on a regular basis that always affected people's lives from work to home. I have and will always support every opportunity to improve the education of our youth.
Why are you better qualified than your opponent(s)?
I don't like this question! Ha! Hopefully everyone that desires to be a school board member has something good to bring to the office. My two youngest children attended Scott City School. I had the desire much earlier to serve on the board but chose to wait until they graduated. I am much more qualified now after serving three years on this great board than I was. I have been very involved in the position and will always have an open mind, open communication, dedication and ambition to strive for the very best for our school and community.
Do you think bullying is an issue within the district? If so, what steps should be taken?
We have fully addressed this situation in our meetings and are working to achieve outstanding results with many goals and objectives in place.
