ST. LOUIS -- Carol Kane, known for her roles in the movies "Carnal Knowledge," "Dog Day Afternoon" and "The Princess Bride," is starring in the play "The Vagina Monologues" at Washington University's Edison Theatre.

Kane's appearances in the adventurous play conclude Sunday, Dec. 16. KMOX broadcaster Carol Daniel will take over Kane's role from Dec. 18-23.

Daniel is the former Carol Keeler, who was news anchor for KZIM radio in Cape Girardeau before leaving for St. Louis in 1995.

"The Vagina Monologues," written by Even Ensler, is based on interviews with a diverse group of women. It has been described as lusty, outrageous, poignant, brave and highly original.

A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to the St. Louis-based charitable organization Alternatives to Living in Violent Environments.
