Cape Bicycle provides endless ways to get people moving

For 32 years, Cape Bicycle has carried the largest selections of treadmills, elliptical machines, exercise bikes and strength training products in the area.

And, of course, bicycles.

Cape Bicycle offers bicycles from the best companies: Schwinn, Specialized, Cannondale and the world's largest bicycle manufacturer, Giant.

"Our service department services the fitness products we sell and bicycles of any kind," said manager Patrick Koetting.

Recently, three of the company's mechanics attended industry tech seminars with Park Tool Co., featuring the latest in tech training from the bicycle component manufacturers.

"We carry all sorts of bicycles, from the $89.99 tricycle to the $13,000 current pro models and all points in between," Koetting said.

Cape Bicycle is very involved in the cycling community. The company was a Silver Sponsor of the Tour of Missouri, the fifth largest bicycle race outside of Europe. Parked outside of the building, there are often more bicycles on the employee bicycle rack as there are cars on the lot, since bike commuting is encouraged.

For the future, the store plans to continue expanding its residential fitness and bicycle selection. Cape Bicycle is owned by Eric & Jean Gooden and is located at 2410 William St. in Cape Girardeau.
