Previous offices held/sought:
Question 1: What are the strengths and weaknesses of the circuit clerk's office in Bollinger County?
Answer: The present staff is efficient and knowledgeable. The office's competency will lead to an easy transition if elected.
Between the resignation of the former circuit clerk and the time that the Governor appointed a temporary circuit clerk as well as the hiring freeze by the state, the office has a tremendous workload. If elected, the office will again have the stability and means to create a good working environment.
Question 2: What will be your policy on providing information to the media?
Answer: As the result of the Sunshine Law, I will be required and will provide all the information permitted to be disclosed. I know there are records that are not to be made available as they are closed to the public.
Question 3: Is there currently good communication among the sheriff and police departments, the circuit court and the judges? What, if anything, could be improved?
Answer: I am not a current employee of the circuit court; therefore I do not know the relationship between the sheriff and police departments as well as the circuit court and the judges. If elected, I will maintain proper communication within each department and judges in a courteous and professional manner.
Closing remarks: If elected, I pledge to take on all responsibilities that are required of the circuit clerk's office. Additionally, I will be conservative of the county's appropriations. I am dependable and will assure the citizens will have access to the office. With running a business, I have countless skills including, but not limited to, bookkeeping and budgeting. I am an exceptionally organized person with great work ethics that will contribute to the office of circuit clerk.
