The doctors and staff are real people who care about their patients and how their vision impacts their lifestyles. Like everybody, the doctors at Eye Consultants fill their nonworking hours with family activities and a variety of hobbies and interests. Just a few examples are Nelson Ringer, M.D., an avid snow skier and golf enthusiast; Todd Lumsden, D.O., F.A.O.C.O., a passionate golfer who also gets pleasure from riding his Harley-Davidson; John Kinder, M.D., F.A.C.S., a very active member in the local Young Life ministry and who also enjoys the seemingly impossible challenges of mountain climbing; Richard Kies, M.D., F.A.C.S., a devoted fisherman who also enjoys spending time with friends at delicious wine tasting events; T. Kim Krummenacher, M.D., a committed runner who also enjoys gardening; and Byron Santos, M.D., who can be seen riding his Harley-Davidson.

In order to meet patients' vision needs and preserve their quality of life, highly trained ophthalmic specialists and surgeons are able to diagnose and treat eye conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, retina and vitreous disease, oculoplastic conditions and conditions caused by trauma. Doctors at Eye Consultants also perform blepharoplasty, which is eyelid surgery, offer Botox treatments and treat macular degeneration, which causes the distortion of central and detailed vision. Macular degeneration is also the leading cause of impaired reading skills.

Patient testimonials attest to the high regards for the expert care provided at Eye Consultants. Helen, a teacher in Scott City, wore glasses for more than 20 years before she had eye surgery. Besides the operation saving her money and providing her with more convenience, Helen also felt a general sense of ease with the doctors at Eye Consultants. On more than one occasion, Helen said the doctors took the time to ask her how she was feeling. She also said that she didn't feel the doctors hurried her into making a decision to go through with the surgery. Now, Helen considers Dr. Lumsden, the doctor who performed her surgery, a friend.
