To the Editor:

I'd like to express our wholehearted appreciation of your tremendous support for September's "Y.E.L.L. for Newspapers" project. Dorothy Klein of Area Wide United Way told us about how your volunteer efforts went well beyond printing the special United Way edition - to involving advertisers, designing the logo, publicizing Y.E.L.L., recruiting "hawkers," and featuring articles about how United Way works. Your terrific commitment is the kind of voluntarism that enables United Ways to help people in need.

Youth, education, literacy and learning are all top priorities for United Way of America. Y.E.L.L. is one of the most innovative local programs we've heard of, and it's a shining example of the United Way/media partnership we value so highly. Thank you for making Y.E.L.L. such a success.
