The advantage of the time change, of course, is the extra daylight as these spring evenings stretch into summer's late sunset. The disadvantage is the loss of an hour of sleep, which the extra hour in the fall never quite seems to make up...

Another inconvenience of the time changes -- spring and fall -- is being late or early for Sunday events.

Some day, perhaps, the nation will see the benefits of adhering to one system of timekeeping year around. Some would prefer full-time daylight-saving time. Others would prefer standard time. Almost all would prefer not to change their clocks twice a year.

But for now it's important to remember the change.

Spring forward. Fall back.
