To the editor:
I am a member of the Theta Xi Fraternity. I feel that recent articles about our Redman activities are completely unfair to our organization. We do not paint ourselves up with the intention of acting like Indians. The only remotely Indian thing that we do is the stomp for victory, which was referred to by the paper as an Indian dance.
Our only intention in attending the games is to support our fellow students as they represent our school and community on the field or court. If Southeast Missouri State University decides to change our mascot, we will still come to the games and cheer on our athletes. We invite anyone who wishes to support SEMO athletics to join us at the men's basketball games.
