Do you have plans for Y2K? It's not to late too get on board for one of the most festive galas of the year.
Tickets still remain for the Y2K Eve Party at the Show Me Center. The goal is to bring 1,000 people together for a night of elegant food and music. About 600 tickets already have been purchased.
Organizers have worked more than a year to dream up a night to remember at the dawn of the new millennium.
Two bands will provide music to keep the tunes going all night. Atlantic Express from Kansas City will play Motown sound and rock music. Cape Girardeau's own Jerry Ford Orchestra will perform jazz, swing and dance music.
The $100-per-person tickets include a dinner buffet of elegant food, two drink tickets, a bottle of champagne for each table of eight, breakfast, souvenir program and champagne glass and party favors. A giant video screen will broadcast millennium celebrations from around the world. A highlight of the evening will be an indoor fireworks display. You can call 651-5000 for more ticket information.
A new millennium doesn't come along every day. So why celebrate this new year in the same old way? There's still time to reserve your spot at the Y2K Eve Party.
