To the Editor:
Isn't the proposed implementation of policies and standards for the improvement of academic achievement by the task force on critical choices for Higher Education a similar plan California has used for many years?
Hasn't there been great expense in gathering of the data? Also, added cost has been involved in travel, meals and lodging?
Is it expecting too much for top-ranking administrators to advise the task force rather than having lay people self educating themselves at public expense?
Couldn't the task force expense money been better used for curriculum improvements, needed building repairs, scholarships for the needy or added to faculty salaries?
