~~To the Editor:
The 1991 Class of Eagle Scouts Council Court of Honor was a great success ... thanks to you.
We deeply appreciated the important role you and your newspaper served in the publicity you provided this event.
As you can tell, the Southeast Missouri Eagle Court of Honor is a highly respected annual event that recognizes outstanding young Eagle Scouts throughout the 14 counties of the Southeast Missouri Council.
The Eagle Court has deep roots, stretching far into the past with a heritage that cements the positive program of scouting with the prestige and honor indicative of our local state university at Southeast Missouri.
You will even notice a picture of the dome of Academic Hall color imprinted in the scouting shoulder patch of our council!
Thousands of young Eagle Scouts, now grown, have resurfaced as active leaders in our communities, after having once stood upon the stage at Academic Hall and repeated the Scout oath and law.
It was so wonderful that you could share our scouting heritage with our young, but future citizens of our community ... the Eagle Scout Class of 1991.
