THE PUBLIC MIND: DERBY KNIGHTS, OTHER ROAD ADOPTERS DESERVE COMMENDATION

To the Editor:

I want to say "Thank you" to all the folks who have adopted a piece of highway to keep it clean. I want these people, young and old, to know how much their efforts are appreciated.

Because these stretches of highway look so nice, the places which have been adopted are really noticeable. Perhaps these spaces will eventually be adopted, or even better, perhaps the folks driving on the roads and highways will learn to put their trash in its proper place and not throw it out the windows.

I especially want to applaud the young people of Derby Knights who have volunteered to pick up trash on Broadway. Let's tell them that we appreciate their good deed. If you see them working, how about taking the time to say "Thanks!"
