We have seen this disturbing trend where people use the power of their office to force their own ideology on the people. In California, it was the liberal judge's action to overturn the will of the people in following through with the recall election. In Missouri, it was Governor Holden's veto of the gun issues. I think the governor's words summed it up best, which is maybe not an exact quote, "I knew this was going to be a controversial issue, and I felt that the vetoes would most likely be overruled by the state legislature. I just felt that it was important to let Missourians know where I felt we should go on this issue."

Mr. Holden, It is not about "I" when you are voted into office to represent Missourians. It is about the will of the people. I thank those on both sides of the aisle who did what was right in getting this legislation passed at last.VERN DAVIDSON JR.
