Thanks for support of Carson event

On behalf of 'The Dr. Ben Carson Event Committee' I would like to say thank you to all who attended and supported the Dr. Ben Carson Event on Feb. 22 in Sikeston.

Many prayers were offered up over the past year in planning, preparation and working through the maze to arrive at a fantastic and well-attended event featuring Dr. Carson. We saw the Lord's hand move in support of our efforts often, and a major roadblock would melt away after sincere prayer and one more attempt.

Then we advanced to the next step in a long journey from nothing more than an bold idea to bringing such a prominent spokesman for American ideals to our little community.

I believe the event will prove to be one of our most favorable memories of a lifetime for those who attended. It was a night of unity and mutual celebration of America and the fundamental principles that made this country great. Dr. Ben Carson brought an inspiring unifying message and delivered it in a warm, genuine and pleasant manner. Dr. Carson came not just to restate the problems plaguing America, but to offer hope and encouragement with well-reasoned, workable, common sense solutions.

I think his message reignited a flickering flame of hope in the hearts of those who attended and heard him speak. May Dr. Carson's message spread and ignite a grass fire of real hope and enthusiastic courage in the hearts of so many who have all but given up hope.
