In March I was involved in an accident due to icy conditions on I-55 around the 109 marker. Rain turned to ice, and I slowed down as I noticed a car in front of me swerving. I tried to get over to the right to avoid other drivers. I tried to turn into the turn and apparently ended up sharing space with a semi. I have no idea what happened, but I do remember two things. A young lady who said she was a nurse stayed with me for quite a while and a few days later a state trooper followed up on me with a phone call. The staff at Saint Francis Medical Center gave me good basic care. I would especially like to thank the young woman and the trooper for caring about me. I am now back in Central Illinois with back and neck braces and a lot of pain.
