To the editor:
ArtsCape 2006, sponsored by the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri, was an enormous success. On May 20, thousands of people of all ages filled Capaha Park to celebrate the arts. So many people have told us how much they enjoyed the festival and that it truly offered something for everyone. Dedicated arts council board members, community support and the assistance of our many sponsors and volunteers made this year's ArtsCape festival possible.
The Arts Council would like to thank the Southeast Missourian and TipOff and OFF! magazines for their coverage of the event and advertising support. We would also like to thank the city of Cape Girardeau, Missouri Arts Council, Southeast Missouri State University, Shivelbine's Music, Procter & Gamble, Buckner Brewing Company, Southeast Missouri State University Department of Theatre and Dance, Cape Girardeau Evening Optimists, Red Letter Communication, Kohl's, Montgomery Bank, Bellevue Bed and Breakfast, The Brace Place, Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau, Port Cape, Wal-Mart, S. Gregg Gallery, Judi Hutson, El Torero, Red Cross, Dennis and Ellen Seyer, Hutson's Fine Furniture, AmerenUE, KFVS, KRCU, KZIM, Crowe Orthodontics, SADI, Space Walk, Louise Bodenheimer, Carol McDowell, the Red House, all of the artists and many others, including more than 100 volunteers. It is this level of support that made ArtsCape, a community arts festival, such a terrific and successful event. Thank you all.
