On behalf of the Yes April 3rd Committee, I want to thank the voters of Cape Girardeau for their overwhelming support of the Parks, Recreation and Storm Water initiative in last week's municipal election. The projects that will be funded by this tax extension will benefit a wide cross-section of the community, from children to young adults to active seniors.

I am proud to live in a community that promotes quality of life and supports economic growth.

Kudos to the City of Cape's awesome Parks & Recreation staff for all their work in preparing the list of potential projects, city manager Scott Meyer and the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board for its leadership, and to the Cape Girardeau City Council for choosing to put this issue before the voters. Thank you also to the members of the Yes April 3rd Committee who worked countless volunteer hours to provide information to the voters and many other tasks. Thank you to Jay Knudtson for serving as committee Treasurer. Thank you to Dr. Jim Dufek and Southeast Missouri State University's TV and Film Department for their assistance in video footage.
