Superficial ideas from Eagleton offend soldier

To the editor:

In response to Thomas Eagleton's column, "Onward, Christian soldiers": I just wanted to say how offensive I found this column. I'm in the Army currently stationed in Germany. I have proudly served this country for three years and am proud of where I come from.

The only problem is that someone has the audacity to say such things like in this column. I'm a converted Muslim who was formerly a Catholic. I felt very offended that someone could say such things.

God bless this country, its soldiers and all its citizens, even if they can see beyond such superficial things as religion.
