WE HAVE CALLED about the mayor not cleaning his yard up on Perryville Road. The leaves are blowing in all directions. Thank you. NOW THAT THE filling stations are gouging us we can retaliate by not buying anything but gasoline from them. Thank you. COULD YOU PLEASE tell me what kind of materials can be recycled and where you can go to recycle them? Thank you...

YES, I WAS calling concerning the local drug bust they had in Mississippi County. From what I hear the sheriff didn't have any information about the drug bust going down when it happened, but after it happened certain ones that got busted, the sheriff already guaranteed them to not worry about it, that he will take care of their court cases, ones that allegedly pays the sheriff off for protection. I'd like to find out how come the sheriff can guarantee local drug dealers that they will get off scott free. Thank you.

COULD YOU TELL me how many part stores in town are having a Christmas party?

TO THE PERSON who thinks Saddam Heussin is doing everything right in last Sunday's paper is crazy, a complete idiot and I know who they are.

CONGRATULATIONS LADY RAMS. You played a great game in the Chaffee Tournament. We are so proud of you. Keep up the good work.

I HOPE SOMEBODY appreciates all the hard work the receptionist does at the JC Penny Styling Salon. She does her job so good. She is always so friendly and polite to everybody and just does a great job. Keep it up.

I'VE CALLED IN three times and all I'd like to say is that I think the Country Club in Scott City looks great with lights this year. Keep up the good work. You've not printed it and I'd like to know why.

PLEASE SPEAK OUT put People's Court back on in the afternoon like it use to be. I love People's Court but 5:30 in the morning is too early for me. So, please put it back in the afternoon where more people can enjoy it. Thank you.

THE NAACP, ACLU, and CORE will soon be joined by another institution. Some have it tough.

YES SPEAK OUT, my wife likes to keep old newspapers every now and then. I read one from about two years back about a little girl who had lost her parrot with a yellow ring around one of its feet. I think that's the parrot I found two years ago and I've been raising for the last couple of years. But, sorry to say two months ago my cat got to it. I guess you can keep your dollar.

$104,000 FOR AN underpass to be used by how many? WISER closed. The park department needs money for soccer fields which will bring in visitors. Why can't visitor and tourism commission, which has and is adding to administration cost, give money for soccer fields? Isn't having visitors to city part of the job instead of adding salaried, nonproductive employees to it? Thank you.

I DON'T WISH any bad luck on John Madden but I wish that he would get fired so we could enjoy a football game without having every play repeated to us. I know the game or I wouldn't be watching it. I don't need every play read back to me. This man simply irritates me where I cannot enjoy a football game where he is up there speaking. Thank you.

THE RECENT LETTER dated 12-08-90 from Stephen R. Hawkins raises a number of critical issues concerning the local legal system. This truthity???? system city attorney offered such an outrageous plea bargaining that being $25 fine and court cost vs. a court trial possibly resulting in a $50 fine and 15 days in jail with a serious local problem. Such a charge appears to be nothing less than intimidation of a citizen. Indeed if what Mr. Hawkins reports is true, the Missouri Attorney Generals office should be informed of this kind of abuse of the legal system. I think Mr. Hawkins needs to appear as a guest on the Don Pritchard Show. This will allow Mr. Hawkins a chance to present his case to the public and to allow those to report of similar abuses by the local legal system. If what Mr. Hawkins reports is correct we have an extremely corrupt local legal system. Thank you.

YOUR RESPONSE to "excluded to give an all-out attack against him to intimidate him" in your Sunday Speak Out is completely in error. You've done this time and time again. You've had letters from me and you've refused to print them just like this last one on this earthquake deal. Irresponsibility in journalism. I don't know what school you went to, but you completely lack responsibility when it comes to printing the paper. On the Bill Emerson deal in the 8th District, you said this is the first time you've ever backed a man or endorsed him. That's not so either. You printed lies about Wayne Cryts, and everybody knew how you endorsed Bill Emerson from the time he ran the first time. I voted for Bill Emerson the first time, but not since, because I wanted a good man. I don't think you know how to print a paper responsibly. If we could find a good man in the next election, I'm sure he could beat Bill Emerson. Bill Emerson didn't win this last election. He didn't win the 8th Congressional District, he bought it, as he has every time, every time he has bought the 8th District. So, that's what we need to do, get some of this corruption out of here, and make sure. But we can't do it when we've got the media as biased as you people are, even KFVS. So, it makes it kind of bad. We need another newspaper that can be responsible when they start to print something.

ALL THOSE HOSTAGES over there in the desert they're talking about - construction workers went over there to make big money. I don't see why we should go after them. Thank you.

I WAS JUST watching KFVS-12. Doug Dillard, didn't your mom ever teach you it isn't nice to point? Thank you.

I SURE WISH Doug Dillard would quit pointing his finger at me, I'm afraid it's going to go off one of these nights.

I WOULD LIKE to know where I can purchase the book "The Water Mills of Missouri Ozarks." Thank you.
