I WOULD LIKE to say thank you to two teen-age boys who helped my daughter and granddaughter get to the hospital on Dec. 2. They had a big girl. Thank you.
I AM CALLING about the Southeast Missourian Speak Out answer about Iben Browning having egg on his face. I believe Iben Browning was not even been heard of or thought about until after the 4.6 quake, and the news media panicked everyone and started putting all this stuff on the news about all of the Iben Browning projections. I had not even heard of these projections until then. That is when everyone panicked, not because of Iben Browning's projection but because of the news media. Thank you.
I THINK IF war breaks out over in the desert they ought to put Bush, Quayle, Baker and Browning on the front line. Thank you.
KFVS IS AS bad as Browning about this earthquake. They just keep talking about it. Why don't they shut up?
I THINK CONGRESS had better appropriate more money for a new plane for Mr. Bush, as he will have this new one worn out in no time. Also, they should change the name from Air Force One to the White House One as he is spending all of his time flying around. They can also sell the White House building in D.C. and use the money to pay on the national debt. Thank you.
I HOPE WEDNESDAY'S Public Mind by David Crowe gets picked up by the Associated Press. It's absolutely fantastic. Thank you, David.
I WOULD LIKE to speak out concerning the statement that somebody made in regards to letting Saddam Heussin do what he wants. This man is mad and must be stopped before he has a chance to develop any type of nuclear weapons that could involve our interests. Anyone thinking that this man is in the right should be admitted themselves. Thank you.
THE PLANE CRASH that killed 256 servicemen in '85 no doubt was another coverup as the Canadian and U.S. governments chalked it up to ice on the wing. It happens just three weeks after the sale of missiles to Iran, which Iran didn't get and thought they were going to get. So, you see, there couldn't have been much of an investigation.
ON THE CNN program today the National Press Club asks why wasn't this S and L ripoff brought out for eight years. It was waiting for Reagan to get out of office and get Bush in. A moron would know that.
HERE'S TO THE person who said they think what Saddam Heussin has done is perfectly ok and wishes the United States would just butt out. Why don't they go over there and jump in? Thank you.
THIS IS IN regard to a response to Dr. David Crowe's article in the Dec. 5 Public Mind, which, as far as I am concerned, certainly does nothing for his public relations. Number 1, I take offense at Number 4 in his top-10 list. I consider myself an intelligent person, but do not consider myself gullible because we made some preparations in the eventuality of a major quake. Number 2, an intelligent person will not put down another professional as stated in all of his top-10 observations; nor, number 3, will an intelligent person put down and publicly expose another professional such as Dr. David Stewart, which appears as number 8 on his list. Number 4, the motto of the Boy Scouts is to be prepared; a pretty wise idea, I think, for the future. Number 5, we all make mistakes but no one enjoys being publicly criticized for them. Thank you, Speak Out.
IN THURSDAY'S PAPER there was a report about a study showing doctors who profit from X-rays; they order more for their patients. I would like to comment in reference to this article. When my child was injured at school playing basketball we took him to the local emergency room and X-rays were ordered. He was examined by the doctor on duty and then referred to a local doctor for examination with the X-rays from the hospital. This doctor ordered more X-rays without even looking at the ones from the hospital. I challenged him and his answer was that he wanted quality X-rays so he took his own. You took advantage of us in our painful situation. Does it sound like I'm bitter? You bet I am. You not only were paid for the unnecessary X-rays, you subjected my child to unnecessary radiation.
AFTER READING JONI Adams' editorial in Thursday's paper, this editorial regarded Browning and Stewart, I want to say that it was all the media that took us for a ride, not these two men. They did not buy air time or newspaper space.
HOORAY FOR DON Pritchard. He tells it like it is.
I JUST READ Joni Adams' article in Thursday's Missourian. I don't believe that the earthquake scare hurt anyone. I don't know why she's so vicious in her attacks on Dr. Stewart. I hope that everyone keeps their water and their clothes for a long time so, in the event we do have some natural disaster, people will have everything in preparation. Thank you.
