Religious tolerance

MONA CHAREN'S recent column dealing with the persecution of Christians brought to mind something I have felt for years. It seems strange that everybody should be protected by the media, the social liberals, and the religious liberals and the ACLU and all the human rights organizations except for Christians. That's not only here in the states but everywhere. We fought in the Gulf War with the Muslims to protect them, to save them, to keep them from invasion. And the Saudis, our so-called friends, would not even let our chaplains wear the cross on their uniforms. Our people couldn't carry their Bibles. We have to downplay everything that is Christian in any Muslim country. We are ostracized and penalized, yet we fight for everybody's right around the world. We're going to destroy a faction of civilization, the Christian faith, which was once the proponent of peace and harmony and democracy around the world by letting an intolerant, bigoted, bunch of religious fanatics dictate that.

Guard call-up

IT'S REALLY aggravating that people in the National Guard are complaining about having to go over to Europe. They knew when they signed up that they were going to be called out to do all types of different things. Either stay in the National Guard and do what they signed up to do or get out and quit collecting the money.

Testing teachers

TEACHERS, -- yes, school teachers -- pound their own ideas into the heads of their students. So don't you think, as parents, that it's important that you select your teachers very carefully? Don't you think that tests should be given to these teachers to see whether or not you as parents approve of what is being taught to your children? Makes sense to me.
