Senators' pensions

AS A taxpayer I just wonder why we haven't said anything about the senators' pensions. Who in the world deserves that kind of pension? I am also a Medicare and Medicaid person, and I don't think that's the place to start. I think that if they would cut their pensions down to about $30,000 like the rest of us people, they would start in the right direction. That's my comment for today.

Racial concerns

I'M A white male who is concerned about the numerous racial statements made by Speak Out callers recently. One caller complained that it was racist to have a Black Entertainment Channel, the United Negro College Fund and the fact that there are black colleges. BET is only a company name, just as NBC, PBS is and the well-known networks could easily be called White Entertainment Channels, because they are oriented towards things many whites enjoy. The origin of most black colleges is the fact that white colleges would not admit black Americans. What makes us what we are is partly our ancestry but mostly our environment. Why worry about a person's skin pigmentation?

He's a coward too

SINCE O.J. Simpson has choked up on going on NBC and answering questions, it proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is absolutely 100 percent guilty of being a lying, no-class coward, afraid to face the truth.

GOP and Medicare

I'M A Republican and in general I support most conservative Republican principles. However, I would like to disagree heartily with the Republican vim and vigor to reform the Medicare program first. I have to say this to all Republicans and Democrats as well: Leave the old folks alone. There are many abuses in the system, beginning with the SSI program, which makes payments of Social Security to drug addicts and alcoholics. Let's start there. Leave the old folks alone. There are many abuses in the Medicaid system beginning with fraudulent practices. Let's start there. Leave the old folks alone. I don't know how many times I have to say it. These people have lived under this system for a long time. It's been good to them, and it's what they're used to and what they need. They've paid their dues, and now they're getting to collect and live a comfortable existence. Leave the old folks alone.

An American

I AGREE with the "Just an American" comment. I'm sick and tired of this African-American stuff. I'm German, but I don't go around calling myself German-American. You're an American. You're here. I can't believe this stuff where you call yourself something-American.
