The job was done in Kuwait

THIS IS in response to the person who said we didn't do the job right the first time. Our job in Desert Storm was to kick the Iraqis out of Kuwait. How many American lives would he be willing to sacrifice to go into Baghdad, fight house to house and get into the presidential palace? It would not have been worth it.

Not worth spilling blood

I WOULD say that state Sen. Peter Kinder is right when he says Clinton is the sorriest scoundrel ever sit in the White House. I fought in two wars, and when Clinton replaced George Bush's seat in the White House, that's when America went downhill. I spilled blood in one war, but it wouldn't be worth for what he brought us to now. Thank God for Peter Kinder. He can see the light.

Clinton sounds a lot like Saddam

I WOULD like to respond to something I read in Speak Out that said we wouldn't be having this trouble in Iraq if a job had been done right the first time. The job was to put Saddam back into his own country and that job was done very well. The reason we are having this trouble now is because we don't have a president that knows how to lead and handle a situation like President Bush did. All we hear from Clinton is long speeches and threats of violence, just like we hear from Saddam Hussein.

Isn't anything a secret anymore?

I'M SITTING here listening to them tell exactly where our nuclear warheads are stored. They're saying they are not guarded right, but why do they have to tell the world where they're at? Can't we keep anything secret?

Too many administrators everywhere

CONCERNING the comment that teachers aren't the reason for the school district's financial crunch: I wholly agree with what the person says. There are too many administrative jobs in all areas. Every time somebody gets a job, they need secretaries or administrative assistants. I think that's where the problem lies.

Teen-ager will see the light

THE CUTE letter than Wendy Stott sent you took me back. It could have been my name at the end of that letter with the exception of the fingernail polish and the makeup for the guys. I was the king of subculture though. The things I've learned over the years in maturing emotionally, they changed me. Wendy, in order to live, participate and grow in a healthy society, you must have rules and regulations. You must have order. Surely you can see that. You're still a child. Your brain's not fully developed yet, and you have no rights. You have privileges. You'll see some day what I'm talking about.

Intelligence needs seasoning

MISS STOTT'S letter indicates that she is an extremely intelligent person but one terribly lacking in life experiences and wisdom. With more life experiences and education, I believe that she may be able to speak with authority.

Backing from an adult

IN RESPONSE to Wendy Stott's letter to the editor regarding rigid school rules, her parents must be proud to have a daughter with such uncommon common sense and courage. I'm 58, and I commiserate with her 100 percent.

Board needs to be mature too

REGARDING WENDY Stott's letter to the editor opposing rigid rules in school, I only hope that the school board doesn't take revenge on her just because she's more mature than they are.
