ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS is chock full of people who care about other people, people who will bend over backwards to help you. Now don't you teetotalers and do-gooders feel smug? MICHAEL KENNEDY not too long ago tried to have his marriage annulled by the Catholic church. I wouldn't say that he is a good father if he was going to do that. Now that he is dead, they say how wonderful he was and how much he loved his children. You'll never convince me of that...

Kennedy tried to get marriage annulled

MICHAEL KENNEDY not too long ago tried to have his marriage annulled by the Catholic church. I wouldn't say that he is a good father if he was going to do that. Now that he is dead, they say how wonderful he was and how much he loved his children. You'll never convince me of that.

If there are problems, file charges

I HAVE a lot of trouble trying to understand the Cape Girardeau police chief and the City Council. The police tells Peppy's Sports Bar that if there is a problem to call them and they will take care of it. But they just use it to build a case to shut them down. If there are problems with the bouncers, why aren't charges filed?

Complaint about trash came from Scrooge

THIS IS directed at the Jackson resident who complained about the four days off for the sanitation workers. You or your family probably spent at least four weeks shopping for, buying and wrapping that so-called Christmas trash, and you couldn't wait four days to have it picked up? Get a life, Scrooge. Signed, Santa Claus.

Can't prove anything is impossible

I AGREE with many points in the recent letter to the editor by Donn Miller. However, one thing I vehemently disagree with is that he states that something was proved to be impossible. Unfortunately, that cannot be done. You cannot prove something to be impossible.

Perhaps he just has too much time

THIS IS in response to Donn Miller's letter criticizing the use of the word God on government buildings, currency and the pledge of allegiance. Mr. Miller, has the use of the word God on currency or buildings ever harmed you in any way? If this is such a big issue in your mind, what would you do if a real problem occurred? While at work, I hear your ramblings on the radio talk shows almost daily, and I've read your numerous letters in the paper. Don't you have anything else to do? I've known people like you before, namely some of my friends in academia. They're always striving to be considered intellectuals, but in reality they just have too much time on their hands.
