EVERYONE NEEDS to vent somehow. I thank God for everything I have, but this isn't a perfect world. Speak Out is an easy way to get things off your mind and see what other people think.

Affordable advice

I WOULD like to ask Jackson officials where they get all this money to pay out-of-towners to come up with ridiculous ideas about things everybody else already knows. They paid $100,000 to a consulting firm to solve our traffic problem, and the proposed solution is a roundabout. They pay $50,000 to tell us our schools are crowded. Who is authorizing these expenses? If the city and school district have this kind of money to waste, then we should never hear the words "tax increase" or "bond issue" again. Most people can tell you the answer to our traffic problem: Make the turn onto High Street right turn only during rush hour. That way, you don't have someone blocking traffic for 10 minutes trying to go straight. Make Fruitland a separate school district and let the residents there pay their own way. I figured it out, and it didn't cost $150,000.
