Politically correct

THE STUDENT who complained about getting off school on Martin Luther King Day but not Good Friday needs to be sent to a re-education camp that stresses indoctrination in political correctness.

A cool idea

BEEN THERE, done that. As a teacher, I once suggested to my students something similar to a suggestion recently made by a Speak out caller. I told them that if they didn't do well on state mandated tests they should be made to pick up trash along the interstate, perhaps decked out in orange jumpsuits. Their collective response? "That would be cool!"

Questioning freedom

THERE ARE a few Americans who seem to think that war protests or the protesters themselves should be suppressed. If you think the Iraq invasion is about defending freedom and you feel protests should be suppressed, I have to ask you what freedom means to you. Is it just the freedom to agree?

Questionable claim

IT IS quite understandable that David Limbaugh attacks the likes of journalist Peter Arnett and columnist Maureen Dowd while remaining silent concerning the transgressions of Fox TV News Channel's Geraldo Rivera. After all, this Fox station is sacrosanct to self-proclaimed conservatives and cannot be criticized even if its news reports deviate from their very questionable claim to fair and balanced news.

Answer to litter
