Though not affiliated with the Southeast Missourian, I hereby formally apologize to the Oak Ridge School District for being left out in the published area school scores on the statewide standardized test. I actually think this apology will carry more weight than a front-page apology demanded by a Speak Out caller since this forum is, sad as it may be, more widely read.
The anniversary of King's great speech was celebrated this week. But the religious values he believed in are never mentioned. I don't think he would support same-sex marriage, aborting children and other abominations. As he remarked many times, you can't have it both ways.
Teachers in the Jackson District should be treated equally when it comes to dress codes. Obviously no teacher should dress in a provocative way, but the micromanaging of teachers in this district is getting far out of hand. In one school, a teacher is reprimanded for wearing knee length shorts, while others are allowed to wear miniskirts which are six inches shorter.
This is to the couple who were speeding on Broadway. You were going through red lights, and you had vile rap music cranked up as loud as it can get. I think it's also a shame you felt the need to have your young child in the back seat. Shame on you.
I want to thank the city for what they've done on Broadway. But have they ever stopped to look at Pacific Street to Kingshighway, in particular Perryville to Kingshighway? There's grass growing underneath the guardrails on the bridge behind Burger King. There's grass across from McDonald's. It looks terrible.
Looks like our "anti-war" leader is trying to start World War III. It looks like it will be Russia, China, North Korea and Iran against the Obama administration and Israel. What good is to come from this?
