I have an easy solution to Millennials not taking very good care of their lawns. Turn it into a video game! Make the blades of grass the "enemy" worth "experience points" and connect the mower controls to their smartphones. There won't be an unmowed blade of grass in sight!...

What's better?
President Trump and the GOP grew the economy by 4.2 percent. Democrats banned plastic straws. That's cute.
Tree travesty
Some communities build new sidewalks around or over established old trees. Cape and Jackson could make this investment in our wonderful trees instead of current removal policy!
Tigers and Indians
To the person that wrote in the Jackson Hoopla comment regarding Jackson football, I have one thing to say: you certainly must be a Cape Central fan, 49-7, ugh.

Anonymous source
Anonymous sources have been used from time immemorial by a truly worthwhile investigative press. There are well established procedures for using anonymous sources. These sources have to be verified as reliable through a rigorous process. Their use by a free press (Deep Throat in Watergate comes to mind) protects the American people and at times leads to well deserved Pulitzer Prizes. To complain about anonymity in Speak Out is ironic.
Sexism
Serena Williams lost a U.S. Open tennis match, and instead of accepting the loss because her opponent was better, she blames generic sexism for her defeat. We've come so far.
Empty stadium
Eighty percent of Houck Stadium was empty at the home opener. And that's just the sad state of this Division 1 college.
Football
Southeast Missouri football finally got a win. Buried deep within the story is that they beat a non-scholarship football school.
