Medicare doctors

Contrary to the conventional wisdom, the number of physicians who accept Medicare patients is on the rise.

Seniors, Obamacare

Regardless of what you may have been told, senior citizens on Medicare already are covered and do not have to change anything or sign up for the Affordable Care Act or anything of the sort. Sadly, many demagogic politicians want you to believe otherwise, but it simply is not true.

Motorcycles

Violation of the city noise ordinance does in fact include the modified, obnoxious motorcycles that are seen more and more. The ordinance should be enforced by our police. The exhaust on most motorcycles, especially in groups, is most unbearable.

Nuisances

I hope the burning of fall leaves and yard waste is added to the nuisance list. When fines are collected, where will that money be used?

Jensen's obsession

"Obama's Obsession" was the title of a piece written by the sage or scourge (depending on your point of view) of Sikeston columnist Mike Jensen. Anyway, the title, "Obama's Obsession," and the following column reveals that, if anything, Jensen has an ongoing obsession with Obama.

Cape Splash

It would be real nice if Cape Splash would stay open into the early weeks of September so parents and seniors could do a little peaceful floating while the kids study. Plus. with the fair in town, they might pick up some visitors business.

Dog park

I continue to be offended by comments berating the establishment of a park for dogs.
