Thank you to the volunteers and Saint Francis Medical Center employee that found my car keys recently. Thank you so much.
I have lived in Scott City for many years and I have many loved ones who are buried at Lightner Cemetery here in town. I don't know what has happened to the care of the cemetery, but it is very sad. You can go out there and the grass is way too high, the graves have not been taken care of, they have jumbled up messes on them with dirt and debris and different things. It really is a shame that a cemetery is not taken care of any better than this one is. Maybe in the future they can try to do a better job.
Congratulations to the Southeast Missourian for using Taylor Crowe on the editorial page. It brightens your day and he is getting increasingly more skilled in capturing the mood of the country and the local area. I look forward to seeing his editorial cartoons every time I open the paper.
It would seem logical to me that the powers-to-be in the county should put away their politics and emotions and place a ban on fireworks in the entire county until the drought is officially ended.
I think they should give each candidate the same amount of money to run their campaign. This would show how they could balance a budget and have time to work on the economy and how to create jobs. Now, all their time and thoughts can go toward solutions, not going to the next fundraiser. Money saved could go into the economy and time saved would go on action of any kind.
