Teaching responsibility
WHAT A great story about the teenager who damaged Wib's Drive-In in Jackson. The teenager owned up to the accident with the help of his parents. Thanks to good parents for teaching your son responsibility.
Take my dollars
PLEASE HURRY up and get a casino in Cape Girardeau. I am so sick of going to Metropolis, Ill., to give them my Missouri dollars. I don't want to go to Caruthersville and give them my Missouri dollars. I don't want to go to St. Louis and give them my Missouri dollars. I want Cape Girardeau County money to stay here. Please hurry up and get the casino in here.
Successful cleanup
ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL cleanup, fix-up week in Jackson. Thanks to all you city guys for cleaning up the worst of it.
Insurance delays
I'VE BEEN reading about the roof at Jackson High School and not being able to get the school district's insurance company to pay for it. I think that's true with all insurance companies. This day and time, you have to get a lawyer to sue your own insurance company to get it to pay a claim. You can file a claim with health insurance for six months ago and talk to different people about it and call them again and ask them how come the claim was not paid, and they will tell you that they never received the claim, even after you talked to three or four people previously about the claim. That's just playing the game of trying to put people off as long as they can.
Holiday caution
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, America, on the Fourth of July. God bless America, and enjoy the freedoms. But remember to be careful. A Fourth with a fifth may mean no sixth. Don't drink and drive.
