What a horrible thing that a gunman opened fire killing so many people in a Colorado theater at the opening of Batman. But I tell you people, these crazy movies that they are putting out today are brainwashing people and it is really atrocious to know that some parents even had their young children, as young as a 3-month old baby, at the opening of that Batman movie at midnight. Now it is our job as parents to protect and keep our children safe...

Brainwashing

What a horrible thing that a gunman opened fire killing so many people in a Colorado theater at the opening of Batman. But I tell you people, these crazy movies that they are putting out today are brainwashing people and it is really atrocious to know that some parents even had their young children, as young as a 3-month old baby, at the opening of that Batman movie at midnight. Now it is our job as parents to protect and keep our children safe.

Violence

About the shooting in Aurora, Colo.: Put such violence on for all to see, and what do they expect? Violence begets violence.

Jackson questions

I have questions about Jackson. No. 1, who owns the Whitey Herzog field? No. 2, why is it never hardly ever used? No. 3, why are they building duplexes in front of it that blocks the view of the field? Also, I go into town on Greensferry Road and I wonder why there is one particular house that has weeds, trash, everything growing in the yard and it is never completely cleaned up. I think they should enforce whatever laws they have.

Birds, breathing

I want to make a comment about these bird cages in the nursing home. Now, I've been in two nursing homes and they've got a big bird cage in there and they've got a lot of birds flying around in there. They stir up their own droppings and that gets out in the atmosphere of the nursing home. You can't keep it out because they are flying around in it and that is poison. That is what I call it because it gets in your lungs.

Animals in store

Our local farm and seed store has a baby pig and a dwarf goat in kennels. They are not for sale, they are kind of inside the warehouse section. I was wondering why and are these animals getting proper food and exercise and attention? Do they every get out on dirt and grass? As an animal lover I don't understand why we would subject our animals to this incarceration. I am just concerned.

Trustworthiness?

I'd like to comment about the presidential race. First of all, I have been listening to what Mitt Romney has been saying about Obama and now it comes out that Mitt Romney is just as bad, if not worse, than Obama. He has covered up things, also he has shut down jobs here in the United States and moved them overseas and put our American people out of work. I never realized that he is just as sneaky in doing things to hurt the American public as our own president has done. So my point is this, is there any politician anywhere in this space of the United States that we can trust?

Rugged individualist

You guys sure made an egregious error in a recently published column by Michael Jensen. Mr. Jensen was justifiably touting the fact that he is a completely self made man. However, he wrote in his column that he "contributed" to paying for the infrastructure serving his business needs. That was most certainly a mistake and one undoubtedly made by Southeast Missourian operatives. Rest assured that there is no doubt that when it comes to the roads, bridges, etc., that have helped make him so successful, Mr. Jensen paid for them with no contribution from anyone else. He is the consummate rugged individualist.
