I want to thank the city employees that did pick up of tree limbs after the storm. They did an excellent job. They need our praise. Thank you.
To Speak Out comment of July 10 that said "religion needs to go": Have you been religious and nonreligious to make an informed decision? Most people with a modicum of education know what the outcome of pagan nations has been throughout history. Unfortunately we never learn. And so will be our outcome as we stick our fists in the face of God. We are all born nonreligious and then we choose one or the other. But you are close to right, most people miss salvation by 18 inches -- religion in the head, no Christ in the heart. I accept the love of Christ and try to live it, albeit miserably. I find sad amusement from those who comment and judge us. They have only lived nonreligious lives. I have lived that, religious and now for Christ. If your loved one's car broke down in a bad part of town, would you prefer they encounter nonreligious people or a group walking home from church?
The guy in downtown Cape who plays the saxophone has brought a New Orleanish flair to our community that is welcome beyond words. I hope the continually crowing growing number of people who patronize downtown Cape establishments appreciate his efforts and tip him accordingly.
