The city of Cape Girardeau made sure that the fine dining restaurant N'Orleans can never open up again. They took away 20 to 25 parking spaces that were used in the evening hours. No restaurant can survive without parking.
No wonder kids are turning out like they are when they put such trash as "Big Brother" on. It's disgusting, and they ought to take it off the air.
This for the man in the neighborhood who walks in our yard and lets his dog pee on our bushes. Shame on you. Do you not know that kills the bushes? Plus, you shouldn't be trespassing. Shame, shame on you.
This is for the people on welfare complaining where they can't spend their money. I work 40 hours a week and have since I was 16, and I'm 62 now. I feel so sorry for you. Get your food at the grocery store like I do. Get up and go to work everyday like I do. Then you can spend your money wherever you want. Until then, you don't need to spend my money in places where it doesn't need to be spent. Wake up and smell the coffee.
Despite the Obama mouthpiece-media's best efforts to convince you that the most important news of the day is the plane crash in San Francisco, it's the train wreck of the U.S. economy that's the real story. People need to wake up and see what is important, which is the destruction of the economy, jobs and people's livelihoods.
It appears that the city of Cape Girardeau needs to put casino money back into the city for citizens of Cape Girardeau. We've seen our water and trash bill raised, our taxes raised and now they're talking about a restaurant tax. It's never-ending. The city is making a lot of money off the casino. They can afford to put that money back into the city system to help the citizens. What is the city doing with almost $300,000 a month?
This is the time for storm season. What are the city fathers waiting for? Now is when we need the extra sirens.
In response to a posting from last Sunday's paper, the Altenburg Public School tax hike. The author of the posting was wrong, completely wrong. The actual tax increase is 77 cents, not the posted 6 cents.
Cape City Council: Please address this at your next meeting. Failure to do so may be interpreted as a desire on your part to keep us from knowing. Cape Girardeau citizens are demanding to see maps specifically showing the addresses of locations underneath which there are natural gas pipelines.
