THE policy prohibiting Cape Girardeau city employees from engaging in political activities leaves said employees with less freedom of political expression than inhabitants of Iran.
EXTENSION of Cape Girardeau's Transportation Trust Fund tax should be approved by voters without one opposition vote. It is incumbent on the Southeast Missourian to get in line with city officials on the issue and publish no negative opinions about the worthiness of such a wonderful project.
I went to the Jackson Park for a softball tournament. There also was a swim meet going on. You could not walk without stepping into dog poop. Does Jackson have a law requiring owners to pick up the mess left by their dogs? It was awful. There were lots of small kids at the park. I didn't go on the walking trail but was told it was just as bad if not worse.
DON'T get so hot and bothered over Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder's filing a suit against federal health care reform. It was simply and understandably designed to take media attention away from Gov. Jay Nixon's appearance in Cape Girardeau at the formal opening of the autism center. And it worked.
