IN a seemingly angry reprimand directed at Missouri teachers, state Sen. Jason Crowell recently wrote in part on his blog in reference to teachers, "I think your time would be much better spent dealing with teacher issues rather than trying to keep the state from responsibly addressing our problems." I imagine Missouri teachers might be a bit upset themselves at being accused of irresponsibility by Crowell and might respond with something like, "I think Senator Crowell's time would be much better spent dealing with Missouri's many problems rather than indulging in shameless self-promotion in an online blog."
THE bonehead of the year award goes Princeton professor Paul Krugman. At this year's G-20 meeting, Krugman claimed that the United States and the world are heading to a new Great Depression. Agreed. But what makes Krugman a bonehead is why he thinks this will come about. He believes that we will go into a Great Depression because of government cutting spending. We should all thank the good doctor for one thing: proving that academia is completely useless in the real world.
MILITARY leadership is subordinate to the commander in chief and must follow protocol when criticizing command decisions. It cannot be done publicly. Gen.
