Olympics in Rio brings the problem of the Zika virus concern. Now comes the doping scandal from Russian teams -- who else cheats? The last, and most important, concern is how these governments spend millions of dollars to host the games in the reality of the country's dire poverty and pollution. Is this sponsoring all in the name of tourism/jobs/money? Is this for bragging rights by politicians at the top? This particular Olympics shows the contrast between the crushing poverty and the government money being spent to build these venues. Lastly, maybe it is time to end the games, or, at the least, use the stadiums that have already been built across the world. What a waste!
Wow! Good job, Dems! I don't know what the answer to the mass shootings is, but I am tired of our Congress not working together to solve the issues facing our country. The sit-in was a great display of unity for the Dems.
I don't understand how the Orlando shooting can be classified as the largest shooting massacre in American history when Lt. Col. George Custer massacred 103 innocent Cheyenne Indians near the banks of the Washita river in 1868. In my lessons of counting, 103 lives are a lot more than 49.
