I live in Woodland Hills subdivision, and I want to complain about our mail service. We had a wonderful mail carrier named Bill and he retired. And now our mail carriers don't get our mail out here until 5 or 6 in the evening when before we always got it by 2 in the afternoon or even earlier. I really think this stinks...

Mail service

I live in Woodland Hills subdivision, and I want to complain about our mail service. We had a wonderful mail carrier named Bill and he retired. And now our mail carriers don't get our mail out here until 5 or 6 in the evening when before we always got it by 2 in the afternoon or even earlier. I really think this stinks.

Wear a shirt

TO the person who sits on their front porch on West End Boulevard right next to William Street, please put a shirt on.

'Flawed' plan

THE U.S. Army Corps of Engineers did execute their plan, but the plan was terribly flawed and very expensive, very dangerous and very destructive to private property. The corps could have just left the levees alone. The Birds Point levee was about 60.5 feet on the Cairo, Ill., gauge, and the Cairo levee is about 64 feet. So Cairo had an extra three feet of free born. All they had to do was match the over top, stand back and let it happen. They did not need to use explosives, they did not have to have forced destruction. It's going to be much more expensive to clean up after the mess than if they had just left it alone.

Placing blame

MAYOR Rediger has the nerve to blame most of the littering on the youths of Cape Girardeau. So, Mayor, you're saying that all those cigarette butts are from the youths? You need to think again. If I were you, I would be more worried about your integrity on how you disregard the financial struggles of most of the citizens of Cape Girardeau.

Pinhook story

I just wish that The New York Times blogger who said the rich farmers got their just due when the Birds Point levee was blown would read your article on Pinhook, Mo.

Hair cut

I don't know whether anybody else is in the same position as I am, but I hate to see these men and boys with this long, stringy hair hanging down in their face. If anybody came in my workplace and wanted a job, I would not hire them whatsoever until they got a nice hair cut, a regular hair cut so they'd look like men.

Thank you

I just want to say thank you to the Missouri Department of Transportation. We had a problem here on the corner of U.S. 61 and Route PP at Kelso. The black top was crumbling out and also had a rough side on the East side of the bridge on PP, right on the other side of the overpass of the interstate, and I gave them a call at 4:45 last Tuesday evening. At 9:45 the next morning they were out there repairing that spot. That's the fastest that I've seen anybody come to do a repair of anything. I just wanted to thank them.
