** Complicated

Can we all put our egos aside for a moment and admit that though we like to pontificate a lot and pretend that we do, none of us really knows what needs to be done to "fix" the Middle East?

** Troops

Charles Krauthammer's recent column, overtly critical of President Obama's Mideast foreign policy, failed to conceal Krauthammer's burning desire to commit to the ground tens of thousands of U. S. troops.

** Pot progression

Why can't Missouri be as progressive? Pot may become legal for treating PTSD in Illinois.

Mr. Rust

A belated but very sincere happy birthday to Mr. Gary Rust, a kind, generous, cheerful, optimistic, caring and very studious man, whose only fault seems to be his steadfast belief that my political views are beyond bizarre.

** Solitary

How many American prisoners are in solitary confinement at any given time? No one knows for sure, but estimates are about 80,000. Yes, you read that right. 80,000.

** Koster, Wybert

I'm getting sick to my stomach reading in this newspaper about the vendetta by Chris Koster against Alice Wybert. Alice is an extremely compassionate person, dedicated to saving the lives of these unfortunate creatures. I've been a staunch Republican nearly all my life, except in my young and stupid days, but I will never ever cast a vote again for Chris Koster, even if I have to vote for a Democrat.
